Top Genealogy Sites
Ancestry.com
Ancestry is the world’s leading genealogy web resource although its subscription-based cost is prohibitive for some folks. You can research, store, and share your genealogical records and documents at Ancestry, and their collections, as well as related services and affiliated and integrated subscription programs are continually increasing. Includes DNA kits, results, connections and more. Available for public use at most libraries.
Family Search.com
An international nonprofit operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Family Search is the world’s largest free genealogical website offering genealogical records, education, and software. You must create a free account to create and save your family tree.
Genealogy Bank.com
This subscription-based genealogy website includes one of the largest collections of digitized newspapers dating back to 1690. More affordable than Ancestry.com, but doesn’t have the vast resources that Ancestry has to offer.
My Heritage.com
Now a partner with Family Search, My Heritage offers a “freemium” service, meaning users can have free, limited access but can have full access and functionality with a paid subscription. My Heritage also offers a service called “Deep Nostalgia,” an AI-powered service that animates still photos.
