Welcome
Studies show that most people place a high value on preserving and passing along family history, yet few do much toward that end. Barbara Cooley lives and works in the sweet spot in the middle of that large divide, writing about her own family history and helping others overcome obstacles to preserving their family history.
A natural storyteller, Barbara has always been drawn to the history of her family – her ancestors and their lives – and the stories that keep them real and approachable, even centuries after their deaths. Family stories encapsulate a family’s beliefs, values, and ethics as well as the personalities, events, and experiences that make their lives unique.
Combining her love of writing and the value she places on family history, Barbara brings new life to voices from the past, and turns the raw genealogical data of birth, marriage, death, and other life events, into flesh and blood, heart and soul. Whether in her how-to guide on preserving your own family history, the story of her brother’s beautifully fierce battle with cancer, or the fascinating saga of one line of her family from the American Revolution to the Civil War, Barbara’s work keeps the history of her family – and yours – alive.
